This Refund and Cancellation Policy outlines the terms and conditions regarding appointment cancellations and refunds for services booked through LawPilot ("we," "our," or "us").
By scheduling an appointment through our platform, you agree to be bound by this Refund and Cancellation Policy. We encourage you to read this policy carefully before booking any consultation.
Appointment Cancellation
We understand that circumstances may arise that require you to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Our cancellation policy is designed to be fair to both our clients and our legal professionals.
Cancellation Timeframe:
- More than 1 hour before the appointment: You may cancel your appointment without any cancellation fee.
- Less than 1 hour before the appointment: A cancellation fee of 10% of the consultation fee will be charged to compensate for the lawyer's time.
To cancel an appointment, please use the cancellation option in your account dashboard or contact our customer support team immediately.
Refund Process
Our refund policy for cancelled appointments is as follows:
- Cancellations more than 1 hour before the appointment: You will receive a full refund (100%) of the consultation fee paid.
- Cancellations less than 1 hour before the appointment: You will receive a partial refund of 90% of the consultation fee paid. The remaining 10% will be retained as a cancellation fee.
- No-shows: If you fail to attend your scheduled appointment without prior cancellation, no refund will be provided.
Refunds will be processed using the original payment method and may take 5-7 business days to reflect in your account, depending on your payment provider's policies.
Rescheduling
You may reschedule your appointment instead of cancelling it, subject to the following conditions:
- More than 1 hour before the appointment: You may reschedule without any additional fee.
- Less than 1 hour before the appointment: A rescheduling fee of 10% of the consultation fee may apply.
Rescheduling is subject to the availability of the legal professional.
Cancellation by LawPilot or Legal Professional
In rare circumstances, LawPilot or the assigned legal professional may need to cancel or reschedule an appointment due to unforeseen circumstances, such as illness or emergency.
In such cases:
- You will be notified as soon as possible.
- You will be offered the option to reschedule with the same or a different legal professional.
- If rescheduling is not possible or desired, you will receive a full refund of the consultation fee paid.
Technical Issues
If your consultation cannot be completed due to technical issues on our platform or the legal professional's end, you will be offered:
- A rescheduled appointment at no additional cost, or
- A full refund of the consultation fee paid.
If technical issues occur on your end, please contact our customer support team immediately to discuss your options.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Refund and Cancellation Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last Updated" date. You are advised to review this policy periodically for any changes.
